General Policies

1.1

It is the duty and responsibility of the parents and/or guardians to keep track of the progress of their son/daughter in school. The parents and/or guardians are encouraged to confer with the school authorities at their own violation or whenever calls for conference are issued to them. This is to enhance the harmonious working relation between the school and the home for the welfare of the students.

1.2

St. Mary’s Academy asserts itself in the exercise of its “special persona authority” which is vested on the authorities and teachers by the Family Code. This means that the school undertakes the expression of parental care and concern in the formation of its students.

1.3

St. Mary’s Academy of Dalaguete reserves the right to admit, re-admit, refuse or dismiss students on the basis of their academic and/or conduct, performance and attendance in accordance with the provisions of the Student Handbook and Administrative policies.

1.4

The enrollment of students in St. Mary’s Academy is taken as an expressed willingness on their part, and consequently their parents and/or guardians, to abide by all the the rules and regulations of the school. Thus, the students and their parents are committed to the strict observance of the same.

1.5

As a Catholic school, with Christian Living as the core of the curriculum, St. Mary’s Academy expects that students attend and participate actively in liturgical and spiritual exercises scheduled throughout the school year.

1.6

Parents and/or guardians may consult or confer with the teachers and administrators provided they inform the Principal and it is the vacant period of the teacher.

1.7

The rules and regulations as stated in the Student Handbook are intended to enhance the life of the students as they relate and interact with the members of the school community.
